The White House is pushing to redirect the Pentagon and confronted on Saturday plans to rename the Department of Defense to the Department of War, the Wall Street Journal reported first.
The Department of War was established by Congress in August 1789 to supervise the operation and maintenance of the military branches. After a short name change to the national military establishment work after the 2nd World War, it was changed to the Department of Defense.
Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly in the White House told Fox News that the change is coming in the midst of a restoration of US military values.
“As president [Donald] Trump said our military should be focused on offense – not just defense – which is that he has prioritized warmakers on the Pentagon instructions by DEI and woke up ideology, “Kelly wrote in a statement.” Keep an eye on! ”

Renamed to the Ministry of Defense is coming soon, ‘says Trump
The message comes days after Trump said the name change would happen “over the next week or so.”
“You know we call it the Ministry of Defense, but between us I think we’re going to change the name,” the President of the White House said earlier this week. “You want to know the truth I think we’ll have some information about it, maybe soon.”

Trump notes the historical significance of the department’s name during both world wars.
“We won World War I [and] World War II. It was called the Department of War. To me, that’s really what it is, “he said.” I talk to the people. Everyone likes it. We had an incredible victory history when it was a war department. Then we changed it to the Department of Defense. “

Congress creates federal executive departments by law, so a change is required to change the name legally.
“I’m sure Congress will go together if we need it. I don’t think we need it. But if we need it, I’m sure Congress will go together,” Trump said. “… defense is too defensively. And we will be defensive, but we will be offensive if we are to be.
