Florida Democrat Rep. Moskowitz warns about 70 years of GOP rule

Rep. Jared Moskowitz, D-FLA., Lameted on Tuesday, that the state looks to Republican dominance in the coming decades, especially after democratic mistakes in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Once a swing state, Florida has been a Republican fortress, attracting an influx of new voters flowers from other parts of the country. After historic GOP victories in 2022, a liberal local news output complained that the state had become a “Crimson Hellscape.”

“I don’t know what the future of the Democratic Party has in Florida,” Moskowitz told Todd at “Chuck Toddcast.” “Democrats had power in Florida for 100+ years. We are 35 years in Republican rule. We may be here in another 70.”

“How much of this is a voting change and how much of this is a lack of investment and leadership in the state party?” Asked Todd.

“But at the same time,” he said, noticing a far more serious from the party. “I think you really have to look at Covid. Covid was a usual moment in politics.”

In 2018, the Republican government won Ron Desantis by less than one percentage point. After his leadership under Covid, however, Desantis won re-election at a nearly 19-point margin over his democratic opponent in 2022.
