Well we could not let this Talabani Article pass by without at least “rolling our eyes” and saying to ourselves (under our breath) “here we go again Talabani”… Are you also having a bad case of Déjà vu????…. Frankly we don’t think this is a solution, just another stall tactic as it has become pretty clear that Talabani is nothing more than a lap dog for Maliki.

Twilight news/Presidential Office said late Thursday that President Jalal Talabani select Sunday as the date for the beginning of the obligation to his recent initiative.

Talabani revealed, on Thursday evening, endorsed agreement to “strengthen” Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and Kurdistan President Massoud Barzani to stop media campaigns between the two sides due to the recent crisis.

Talabani’s Office said in a statement sent to “Twilight’s” copy, “to complement efforts to contain tension and pacification, the President continued to work as a coordinator between the Federal Government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, and working with them to acceleration aimed at reaching understandings and solutions.”

The statement said the Presidency “underlines its call to avoid escalation and adhere to dialogue and the adoption of language policy, tools and get away from all that suggests the potential for the use of violence or threat in addressing existing problems.”

“Reiterating President and Vice-President (khudair Al-khuzai) calls for calm, they appeal to the parties to be next Sunday (16 December) the beginning of full commitment to cease mutual recrimination and hardening of rhetoric”.

And the President of the Republic had submitted a series of proposals, the two sides have responded in Baghdad and Erbil to calls of appeasement and a commitment to stop mutual accusations and nervous statements, and also agreed to resume military-technical delegations, on the outcome of their discussions to the two leaders to take appropriate decisions as the two parties for dialogue and agreement.

Shortly before, said the approval of the President of the Kurdistan region Massoud Barzani to cease media campaigns against Al-Maliki, on the initiative.

Spokesperson for the Presidency of Kurdistan OMID morning text in email for “Twilight” “recognition and respect for the initiative of the President of the Republic, the President of the region agreed to stop media campaigns which we are basically against any form of rhetoric.”

Talabani had said in a statement issued earlier Thursday, had received “twilight news” campaigns “lead to tense relations and creating a tense atmosphere” between the two sides.

Talabani also announced agreement on the formation of the disputed areas between Baghdad and Erbil to replace Tigris operations command that triggered a barrage of criticism by the Kurds for posting in Kirkuk.

“Military technical commissions from the two sides to meet to discuss the details, and the recent decision in Kurdistan will be made after presentation of the results of the military technical committees of Parliament and the Government of Kurdistan and Kurdish political forces”.

But the spokesman on behalf of the Presidency of the Kurdistan region said that “for the security situation in the disputed areas is delicate and needs to discuss the exact details, so that any agreement would have to be guaranteed not to repeat what happened in the recent past.”

Talabani said that during his meetings with the parties “agreed to meet military commissions-technical competence with a view to the formation of citizens groups contested areas”.

The time that it should be “equal proportions among the three nationalities, with responsibility for maintaining security there, and start following the withdrawal of the troops moved in earlier to these areas.”
